[News] Cory Gunz Arrested With Loaded Gun

Monday, 30 January 2012 10:32 blazinhits

Cory Gunz was arrested for gun possession in the Bronx, New York, on Saturday (January 28) afternoon.

The Young Money emcee's father, rapper Peter Gunz, confirmed the report to MTV News.

"The details are still sketchy, but I can confirm that he was arrested with a firearm yesterday in the Bronx," Gunz told MTV News. "They caught him around 2 p.m. in the afternoon with a loaded gun in his knapsack.
"It was definitely an illegal search," Peter added.
Gunz was unable to disclose full details on the incident just yet, but he explained the events leading up to his son's arrest. "I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I'm hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should 'look out,' " Gunz said. "According to [the officer], they didn't know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around.
"What I will say is that the officer that arrested Cory actually happened to be a cool dude," Gunz continued. "After arresting Cory, sitting down with him and talking, he felt bad about the situation."

Though this is Cory Gunz' first charge, his father is worried about New York's stringent gun laws, the same that put the likes of Lil Wayne, Ja Rule, Mobb Deep's Prodigy, and NFL wide receiver Plaxico Burress in prison.

"To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it's heartbreaking. Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it's very hard. He's walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through."

A judge has ordered Mack 10 to pay back two loans with extremely high interest.

Mack 10 made two deals; the first was to pay back a $35,000 loan from Tadayuki on April 24, 2010 with $70,000 by August 31, 2010 - 100% interest over the course of three months. The second was to pay back $130,000 on September 30 on a $65,000 loan obtained from Ito on April 28, 2010.

According to TMZ, California law prevents excessive interest on loans. However, the judge entered a default judgment in favor of Ito in the amount of $229,668.86 because Mack 10 failed to show up for court.

The figure includes interest and attorney's fees.

A$AP Rocky Discusses Hip Hop's Fascination With Fashion

Monday, 23 January 2012 19:16 blazinhits

ASAP Rocky recently covered Complex magazine’s Feb/March cover with designer Jeremy Scott, discussing Hip Hop’s relationship and fascination with fashion. During the interview, the Harlem, New York rapper explained how Hip Hop culture is an outlet of expression for artists and that it can flaunt a certain level of wealth.

“As black people it was our thing to show that we’re not living in poverty and that we can afford extravagant things—that kind of stuck with us. So when our great-grandparents were putting on their favorite outfits, it was to put on a front for the hard time. And hip-hop is a bunch of people that never had nothing. Fashion is just an expression. It’s an art. It expresses your taste. Good taste is important in hip-hop. I wake up saying I’m going to look the best I can and do what the fuck I want to do. And that’s what it’s all about.”

Jeremy Scott, who has designed clothing for MadonnaLil WayneLady Gaga and more, noted how Hip Hop has in turn influenced fashion.

“That’s why I’ve always been inspired by hip-hop artists, because they transform things—even just the jean, turning it around, inside out, sagging it—all these different things. Yes, of course we get little things from other music movements, but hip-hip has been like, Pow! It’s really inspiring and it’s the only new music that has come along in eons. Rock and roll has been around—it’s changing forms. But hip-hip is major.”
